Best 15-inch wine cooler under counter reviews

1. Best choice: NewAir 15 Inch Wine Cooler

Moreover, you have complete control over the cooling zones of your collection with an easy-to-adjust thermostat.

  • Separate temperature ranges
  • Moving shelves
  • Fashionable design
  • Integrated door lock

Things we don’t like:

  • There is no temperature memory.

Editor’s note:

The wine cabinet is very beautiful. It looks good, is very quiet and the temperature control works well once you realize how it works. The temperature setting is obviously the temperature of the air delivered to the back of the cabinet. The temperature of the wine can be 5-10 degrees warmer depending on where you measure the temperature. The warmest temperature measured was near the door.

I spent some time measuring the temperature of the bottle and adjusted the settings after waiting a few hours for the bottle temperature to stabilize. Once placed, the temperature is very stable. You need to pay attention to the temperature reading on the front panel which is the temperature of your wine.

FAQs

Q: Can this be kept quiet?

A: No, I wouldn’t call this thing quiet. When the fan runs often during the day, it unquestionably creates an audible hum.

Q: Can 1.5L bottles be held there?

A: The shelves appear big enough to hold larger wine bottles (and those with different shapes), but I haven’t tested that yet. They are also movable, so if necessary, you can remove a shelf to suit the 1.5L bottles.

Editor’s note:

The product is rated 4 stars out of 5 stars.

I bought this and the 24″ wide Avallon refrigerator cooled down to 34 degrees. After about a year and a half, the unit stopped cooling. It only dropped the top and bottom temperatures to about 62 degrees, and the compressor got hot. touch level. All of those things indicate low coolant levels. Avallow officially warrants these for 1 year and 5 years on the compressor. The story ends with them sending me a unit new, even though my warranty has officially expired. Love these for their looks and quality feel.

The downside is the vertical spacing for bottles, only traditionally sized wine bottles will fit, and some noise. Other than that, I would recommend it to everyone – it’s a good-quality device.

A: The power button is to your left and the temperature controls are directly next to it.

Things we don’t like:

  • The removal of the shelves might be difficult

Editor’s note:

The product is rated 4.6 stars out of 5 stars.

It is a great quality product, highly recommend it. Opening and closing feel solid, I wish the drawers slid in and out a little more crisply, they wiggle a bit but look great. Fits most good-sized bottles, some larger odd bottles can’t be stacked in both directions so dimensions can be confusing as can be with any fridge of this size.

The temperature control is fine. It’s hard to set the temperature and it’s not the temperature you want. The top and bottom are about 10 degrees apart. If you lower the top past a certain point, the top will also drop. I want to put white on the bottom and red on top, but the top is cooler than the bottom and you can’t flip it. I want red at 55 degrees and white at 40 but it won’t spread that far across the temperature range.

FAQs

Q: Do you put huge pinot noir bottles in this somewhere? How many people fit there?

A: In mine, I keep many big bottles. I believe I once had as many as five or six.

Q: Can anyone comment on how dependable this product has been over the long term? Are shelves flat, too?

A: My own has been functioning flawlessly for more than two and a half years. Level wire racks serve as the shelves. The racks allow you to insert the bottles any direction while preventing the bottles from sliding out to either side. Hope that was useful.

Q: Where is it made, exactly?

A: This wine cooler is made by China.

The product is rated 4.4 stars out of 5 stars.

I am satisfied with the cooler. It caught our attention because of its quiet operation of a compressor unit and its ability to cool quickly to the correct temperature. Another plus point for this cooler is the wire shelves. I like these because NewAir’s wooden shelves absorb wine spills and look pretty bad after a while. Makes the inside of the cooler easier to clean.

The device can hold 12 bottles on 3 shelves and 1 open shelf. I don’t believe it can hold 29 bottles, although for us, 12-20 bottles is fine. The device is very attractive, the blue light inside is a nice touch.

A: Yes it comes fully assembled But I think you have to add the handle. Very easy.

Q: Is the door stainless steel

A: Yes, the door frame is stainless steel.

The dual zones work great for me. I don’t have any problems. My red is the perfect temperature and so is my white. It was a bit noisy but we only heard it at night if we slept in the living room. Otherwise, we wouldn’t notice it at all.

What I like most is that it has a lock to prevent small children from opening the door. The pull-out shelves are also smooth. I did a lot of shopping and for the price, I don’t think this wine refrigerator can be beat.

FAQs

Q: Is humidity adjustable?

A: No, the only control is temperature. Humidity will follow if doors remain shut. But no humidity controls

Q: Can you use the refrigerator without the handle? We have a relatively narrow kitchen galley and would prefer not to have the handle sticking out.

A: The handle can be taken off if you want. After removing, the cooler could open by pulling the door frame.

From the outside, it looks premium and does a great job of keeping the wine at the right temperature. Love its cool blue light and spacious storage capacity. However, it must be a standard-sized wine bottle, otherwise it won’t fit. Some of my French white wines are not suitable for it.

FAQs

Q: Even if the unit is pushed back between two cabinets, will the door still open?

A: To open the door between the cabinets, there must be a 1/4 inch space on either side of the unit.

Types of under-counter wine coolers

Every pastime requires a means of preserving or storing the work being done. To enjoy their wines for years to come with the exact same quality as when they were initially purchased, one must be careful with how they are stored and preserved. There are many different kinds available today, but many are better for each person’s needs than others.

  • Built-in Undercounter Wine Coolers: These are designed to be seamlessly integrated into cabinetry or under countertops, offering a sleek and built-in appearance. They often have front ventilation to allow for proper air circulation and can be installed with a custom panel to match the surrounding décor.
  • Freestanding Undercounter Wine Coolers: As the name suggests, freestanding wine coolers are standalone units that can be placed under the counter or used as standalone appliances. They typically have ventilation at the back, so they require sufficient space around the unit for proper airflow.
  • Dual-Zone Undercounter Wine Coolers: Dual-zone wine coolers feature two separate temperature zones, allowing you to store different types of wines at their ideal serving temperatures. This is particularly beneficial if you have a diverse wine collection that includes both red and white wines.
  • Single-Zone Undercounter Wine Coolers: Single-zone wine coolers offer a consistent temperature throughout the unit, ideal for storing a single type of wine or if you prefer to have all your wines at the same temperature. They are often more compact and budget-friendly compared to dual-zone models.
  • Small Capacity Undercounter Wine Coolers: These wine coolers are designed for compact spaces and offer a smaller storage capacity, typically accommodating fewer bottles. They are ideal for those with limited wine collections or space constraints.
  • Large Capacity Undercounter Wine Coolers: For wine enthusiasts with extensive collections, large capacity undercounter wine coolers provide ample storage space. These units can hold a significant number of bottles and often come with advanced features for temperature control and humidity management.

Best 15-Inch Wine Cooler Undercounter: Buying Guide

1. Type of Wine Cooler

There are several types of wine coolers to help preserve them, just as there are various wine varieties to pick from. They perform the same functions, but by giving distinct cooling zones, they enable more precise adjustment choices for the humidity and temperature to suit your unique vintage preference.

  • If you prefer one kind of wine over another, a single-zone wine cooler will do.
  • With a dual-zone model, you can store wine in one zone and other drinks in another while still maintaining the perfect temperature for both whites and reds in the same appliance.
  • There are also multi-zone wine coolers available for optimum versatility.

2. Capacity

You will soon realize that many of these appliances are ranked according to the number of bottles they can hold when you look for the ideal wine refrigerator.

There has to be some compromise because wine bottles’ size and form are so distinctive, depending on the vintage and vineyard selection. Building a chiller for only one size would be challenging and expensive, and it would use considerably more room and energy than is necessary.

As a result, a high-quality wine refrigerator is built to accommodate a single basic bottle type, with adjustable or detachable shelves to help create space for bigger bottles like champagne.

3. Design

Built-in wine coolers are often made to fit in a cabinet or beneath a counter in your kitchen. Making sure the item fits well is important. The most essential thing is to choose a model that blends well with the design of your kitchen or house.

4. Cooling performance

The finest 15-inch wine cooler should operate quietly so as not to disrupt the wine’s natural sediment. Additionally, the compressor technique shouldn’t produce a loud, annoying sound when operating. Choose a model with a top-notch anti-vibration chiller or go with a cabinet that can accommodate the wine bottle.

Several well-known under-counter wine refrigerator brands

Why should you buy a 15-inch undercounter wine cooler?

Purchasing a 15-inch under-counter wine cooler offers several benefits that make it a worthwhile investment for wine enthusiasts. Here are some compelling reasons to consider buying a 15-inch under-counter wine cooler:

15-inch-wine-cooler-undercounter-reviews/

  • Space Efficiency: A 15-inch width is a popular size for under-counter wine coolers, making it an excellent choice for maximizing storage in tight spaces. It can fit seamlessly under standard countertops or be integrated into cabinetry, allowing you to make the most of your available space without sacrificing aesthetics.
  • Capacity and Bottle Storage: Despite its compact size, a 15-inch undercounter wine cooler can still provide ample storage capacity. These units can typically accommodate a significant number of wine bottles, ranging from 20 to 40 bottles, depending on the design and configuration. It’s an ideal option for both casual wine enthusiasts and those with modest-sized collections.
  • Convenient Access and Display: With an under-counter wine cooler, your wine collection is easily accessible and beautifully displayed. The front-facing design allows you to view and select your desired bottle without having to dig through racks or open larger refrigerator doors. This adds convenience to your wine-drinking experience and showcases your collection in an elegant manner.
  • Temperature Control and Preservation: Undercounter wine coolers are designed to provide precise temperature control, creating an optimal environment for storing and preserving wines. Most models offer adjustable temperature settings, allowing you to set different temperatures for reds and whites or customize them according to your preference. Consistent and stable temperatures help maintain the quality, flavors, and aromas of your wines over time.
  • Noise Reduction: Undercounter wine coolers are designed to operate quietly, ensuring minimal disruption in your living space. They are equipped with advanced cooling technology and insulation to reduce noise levels, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful ambiance while your wines are being stored at the ideal temperature.
  • Enhancing Home Aesthetics: A 15-inch under counter wine cooler adds a touch of sophistication and elegance to your kitchen or entertainment area. The sleek and integrated design seamlessly blends with your cabinets or countertop, enhancing the overall aesthetics of your space. It creates a focal point for wine lovers and conveys a sense of style and refinement.

What is the Difference Between Built-in and Freestanding?

You might be deciding between buying a built-in or freestanding wine cooler when you are out buying a wine refrigerator. Wine coolers that stand alone and have exhausts in the back are called freestanding appliances. Under a counter, a table, or cabinetry should not be installed in freestanding models.

The main advantage of having a freestanding wine cooler is that it is portable and requires little to no setup. There is a front exhaust on built-in wine coolers, often known as under-counter wine fridges. Cabinetry can incorporate built-in models for a seamless appearance.

Best Ways to Use Your Wine Fridge

It’s simple to increase the lifespan of your wine cooler. Make sure your wine refrigerator is put in a location that can adequately handle the weight of your wine cooler when it is stocked with wine after you have unpacked it. Choose a dark area where the appliance won’t be subjected to prolonged exposure to sunlight.

15-inch-wine-cooler-undercounter-reviews/

Unless otherwise indicated, the wine cooler must be put in a properly insulated space with a variety of ambient temperatures. Wine chillers require routine cleaning, just like a kitchen refrigerator. With a moist towel, you may clean your wine cooler.

For cleaning recommendations, consult the owner’s manual of your particular wine cooler. You may extend the lifespan of your wine fridge for many years by carefully installing it and cleaning it on a regular basis.

How long does it take for wine to reach the ideal temperature in a cooler?

This is dependent on a number of variables, including the size of your wine cooler, the temperature that is set for it, the temperature of the wine, the ambient room temperature, and others.

Overall, it is safe to conclude that after eight to ten hours, a bottle of wine placed in any cooler will reach the correct temperature. Simply wrap a bottle in a damp paper towel and place it in your freezer for about 20 minutes to swiftly chill it!

How should I clean it or keep it the best?

Even if your model has an odor-reducing carbon filter, your wine fridge won’t need any internal maintenance. However, if you do decide to give it a wipe-down, all you have to do is unplug the cooler and use a light soap to clean any metal or plastic surfaces. Use a soft wood cleaner if the components of your shelves are made of wood.

FAQs

1. Why are 15-inch wine coolers so costly?
